Mary Carroll

Mary Ellen Carroll, 60, of Chillicothe, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017, at her home, following a two year battle with cancer. She was born February 20, 1956, in Chillicothe, to the late John Hughes and Abigail (Coon) Malone. On August 27, 1989, she married Robert A. Carroll, who survives. In addition to her mother and husband, Mary is survived by her children, Ronnie Bell II, Tara (Ben) Browning, and Violet (Mark) Tanner, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Ashley Bell and Jacob Browning; her brothers, John Hughes, Rick Hughes, and Luther Malone II; her sisters, Rebecca Danner and Melissa Bushatz; a special friend, Sandy Daubenmire; and also numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Samuel (Susie) Coon, and Kate (John) Hughes; her step-father, Luther Malone, and a special brother-in-law, John Bushatz. Mary was a member of the Hilltop Mission Church and worked at Adena Regional Medical Center for 25 years. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, playing pool, and loved going to flea markets. The family would like to give special thanks to Mary's nurses, Cindy and Paula, with Adena Hospice for all their love and care. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at the Haller Funeral Home with Charles Maddy officiating. Burial will follow in Brown's Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 5:00-7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hilltop Mission Church, 398 Lunbeck Rd, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
