Mary Brokaw (76) passed away peacefully, at home on May 29 2025. She was born on March 31, 1949, in Kersey, Pa. She grew up the only child of Mike and Rita Eberl. For 56 years she was the wife of Robert J. Brokaw. She was the loving mother of Arlene Brokaw (Russel O'Bryan) of Warren, Maine; Robbie (Shanna) Brokaw of Dublin, Ohio; and Alicia Brokaw of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She had four grandchildren, Eddie O'Bryan and Twila O'Bryan of Warren Maine, and Beckham Brokaw and Blake Brokaw of Dublin, Ohio.
In addition to her parents Mary was predeceased by her father and mother-in law Robert and Helen Brokaw, and a brother - in- law Rodney Brokaw.
Mary graduated from St. Marys' area High School. She attended Edinboro College. On July 4, 1970, she married Bob in Kersey, Pa. She worked in banks in Ridgeway, Pa, and Allentown, Pa. She worked at Globe Furniture Store and then assumed the hardest job of all: being a good mother.
Mary was always a social person. In the late 1970's she was active in The Ross County Newcomers club, the Jaycee women And the Brewer Heights Garden club.
In the 1980's Mary started the family. Having children in 1983, 1985 and 1986 didn't leave much time for the social engagements which she used to enjoy. When she found time, she enjoyed arts and crafts and then supported her children's activities. She never missed a sporting event and could be heard loudly cheering from the stands.
In the 1990's Mary became the area distributor for Rainbow Vacuum cleaners, traveling all over southern Ohio to do in- home demonstrations.
After Bob's retirement, they purchased a motorhome and began to see the United States. Bob and Mary traveled from Maine, to Seattle, Washington stopping and enjoying the National Parks along the way. On one of the trips they discovered the
warmth and hospitality of southwest Florida and became snowbirds. After selling the motorhome, they purchase a winter home on a lake near Marco Island. For the last 12 years Mary has enjoyed the social lifestyle of a retirement community called Silver Lakes RV and Golf Resort.
Mary's spirit will be always in our hearts, and life seems empty without her.
