Marvin Detty

Marvin L. Detty, 73, of Chillicothe, died at 7:52pm Friday, January 22, 2016, at Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born January 11, 1943, in Ross County to the late James R. and Mary E. Southward Detty. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Wendell Detty; infant brother Melvin Detty; and sisters Von Moore and Gloria Miller. Marvin is survived by his children: Barbara Stevison, Chillicothe, Marvin "Tom" (Paula) Detty, Chillicothe, Sarah Bailey, Westerville; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; a brother James (Thelma) Detty, Chillicothe; and sisters Sue Hawk, Bernice (Robert) Duffy, all of Chillicothe, and Elaine Pruitt, of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marvin retired from the Mead Paper Co. in 2002 following 30 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and hunting mushrooms. At his request, cremation services will be held under the direction of Haller Funeral Home and Crematory. Calling hours will not be observed. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
