Martin P. Flannagan, 83, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly Friday August 19, 2005, at his residence. He was born August 26, 1921, in Uniontown, IN, to the late John and Delphine Bodart Flannagan. On October 20, 1945, he married the former Joy A. Faulkenberg, who preceeded him in death on November 25, 2004. Surviving are his children Patricia Anne (Ken) Loose, of London, OH; Elaine K. Cameron, Los Angeles, CA; James M. (Cindy) Flannagan, Chillicothe; Jeffrey Alan (Irene) Flannagan, Indianapolis, IN; Karen Sue (Leonard) Shoemaker, Chillicothe; Nancy Jean (Rick) Williamson, Chillicothe; Gary Michael (Robin) Flannagan, Chillicothe; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers Dr. Charles (Delores) Flannagan, Tell City, IN; Albert (Marie) Flannagan, of St. Criox; sisters Irene Flamion, and Christine Hawkins both of Tell City, IN; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother William Flannagan; and sisters Agnes Brickner, Helen Beck, Florence Flannagan, and Anna Ramsey. Martin was a home contractor for 37 years. He was the first president of National Association of Home Builders. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and a St. Margaret Cemetery Board member. He served his country in the Army Air Force during WWII as a Captain and pilot. He was an avid hunter and gardener. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00pm Tuesday, August 23, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross County Honor Guard will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home where a wake service will be held at 8:00pm.
