Martha Welsh

Martha P. (Dean) Welsh, 88, formerly of Londonderry, was escorted by angels to her Heavenly home at 8:05am Saturday, May 31, 2014, while surrounded by family. She was born April 15, 1926, in Ross County to the late Fred and Nettie (Arledge) Dean. On August 11, 1951, she married Caryl Welsh, who preceded her in death March 14, 1994. Surviving are their children and spouses: Denise Zimmerman, Dundas, OH; Guy (Teresa) Welsh, Chillicothe; Edra (Robert) Crow, Cambridge, OH; James (Cindy) Welsh, Ray, OH; and Sally (Kevin) Gibson, Chillicothe; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brothers Edwin (Pat) Dean and Ned (Donna) Dean; and a brother-in-law Dwight Welsh. She was preceded in death by a brother Richard Dean; sisters Rosanna Sparks and Iva Lee Turner; a son-in-law Gary Zimmerman; a granddaughter Alysia and a grandson Shawn Michael. Martha was a graduate of Unioto High School, Class of 1944. She had volunteered at Adena and was member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, shopping and going to flea markets. Once she moved to assisted living, she enjoyed playing bingo. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her two biggest loves were her family and the Lord. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, June 3, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Viar officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
