Martha E Rucker, 81, of Chillicothe, our mother, sister, grandmother and friend has gone to be with her Lord and Savior, whom she loved and served. She left this life and joined her husband Garry Rucker in heaven on his birthday, October 3, 2023.
She was born February 22, 1942 in Scioto County to the late Leslie and Myrtle (Boggs) Hardin. On January 1, 1960 she married Garry Wayne Rucker, who predeceased her in 2017. She is survived by her daughters, Jean (Alan) Steel and Terri (John) Rinehart, both of Chillicothe; five grandchildren, Maurice Weaver, Garry (Kelsey) Wayne Rucker II, Zechariah Rucker, Samuel Stratton, and Megan Howard (Anthony Gallas); five great-grandchildren, Reese, Lexie, Natalie, Titus, and Ivan. Martha is also survived by sisters; twin-sister Mary (Ronald) Pollard of Buchanan, OH, Arizona (Jerry) Rucker of Chillicothe, OH, Margaret Conkel of Dayton, OH and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Ivan Rucker; sisters, Nellie, Sarah Imogene, Gladys, Rose, and Barbara, and brothers; Willard, Raymond, Leslie Junior, Fieldon, Isaac, Arthur, Donald, Paul, and Carl.
Martha spent her life serving God and God's people. She was a devoted and active lifelong member of Mt. Tabor Church where she served as Sunday School teacher for many years. She volunteered at Mt. Hope Bible Camp where she was a Pioneer Clubs leader, Cook, Nurse, and any other job that needed doing. Her work as a Sunday School teacher led to her being a student of the Moody Bible Institute where she completed her certification. Martha's son, and all of her grandchildren served in the US Armed Forces.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Mt. Tabor Church, Rev Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Garden. Friends may call from 6 to 8pm on Friday, October 6 at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory or one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Mt. Tabor Church, 6043 Mt. Tabor Rd, Chillicothe, OH 45601 or Mt. Hope Bible Camp, 3162 Mt. Hope Road, Otway, OH 45657.
