Martha Peoples

Martha J. Peoples Martha J. Peoples, 78, of Chillicothe, died 9:25 pm, February 10, 2006 in Riverside Methodist Hospital, following an extended illness. She was born July 31, 1927 in Columbus to Clellan G. and Mary Alice McCoy Fisher. On January 26, 1948 she married Lewis M. Peoples, who preceded her in death in 2003. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara (Bernie) Stearos, Peggy K. Eley, and Judith E. Peoples, all of Chillicothe; her grandchildren, Robyn (Todd)Helmick, Nicole (Richard) Stotridge, Christy (Gary) Speakman, Brion (Erin) Peoples, Shannun, Sean, Cameron, Colleen and Brittany Peoples; great-grandchildren, Whitney and Brooklyn Watts, Aricin Helmick, Justice Stearos, Ethan and Olivia Stotridge, Meesha, Liam, Cieran, and Chloe Speakman, Brion, Braden, and Aiden Peoples, Andre Peoples; a brother, Ronald Fisher; and a sister, Mary Lou Rainsberger, both of Columbus and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael, a great-grandchild, Neveah Peoples; and four brothers, Donald, Clellan, Charles and Wilmer. Mrs. Peoples was a member of the Walnut Street United Methodist Church. She was a 1945 graduate of Linden-McKinley H.S., a homemaker, an avid doll collector and enjoyed most working in her yard and gardening. Funeral services will be held 6:00 pm Tuesday, February 14, 2006 in the Haller Funeral Home, with Marilyn Morris officiating. Private graveside services will be held Wednesday morning in Floral Hills Memory Garden. Friends may call 4-6 pm Tuesday at Haller's.
