Mark Pittenger
November 9, 1958 — March 22, 2025
Mark A. Pittenger, 66, beloved husband, father, grandad, and great-grandad, entered into God's Kingdom early Saturday, March 22, 2025.
He was born November 9, 1958, in Columbus, OH, to the late Richard M. and Wanda G. (Richards) Pittenger. On July 21, 2001, he married the former Tammy C. Sheppard, who survives.
Also surviving are his children: Stefanie Wright, Paul Pittenger, Seth (Bretney) Pittenger, Jennifer (Bobbie) Washington, Aaron Pittenger, and Tiffany (Tim) Boggs; grandchildren: Dimitrious, Kali and Payton Burgin; Taquan and Nyla Wright; Ali Thomas; Emma, Kellan and Noelle Washington; Mia Pittenger and Katie McAllister; "bonus" sons Daniel (Andrea) Diehl, Caleb (Alice) Sheppard; "bonus" grandkids: Kerrigan, Brennan, Owen, Calie and Carolyn; 6 great-grandkids, with another expected in September; his sister Paula (Rocky) White; the mother of his children, with whom he remained friends, Shirley Pittenger; brothers-in-law Eric Sheppard and Adam (Leanna) Sheppard; sister-in-law Lisa Sheppard; numerous nieces and nephews; and his K9 companion and best friend "Rusty." In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Barry and Tim Pittenger; and his mother- and father-in-law Carolyn and Donald Sheppard.
Mark was a graduate of the Pickaway Ross Vocational Center, Class of 1976. He was co-owner of P & S Construction. He was a member of New City Church, and a diehard Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Mark can be defined simply as "God, Family, Rusty."
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm, Thursday, March 27, at his church, New City Church, 268 W. Water St., Chillicothe, with Pastor Mason Good officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Cremation services are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home.
