Marjorie Ann Waddick, age 103 and 3 months of Chillicothe, OH passed away peacefully on April 3, 2023 at the Liberty Village Senior Community in Chillicothe, OH. Born December 23, 1919 in Putney, West Virginia she was the daughter of the late James William and Melvina Mullins Stewart. She was the wife of the late John Edward Waddick who died August 26, 1967 at the age of 61. He was a retired Marine Corps Master Sergeant and veteran of Guadalcanal and WWII and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. They were married on May 29, 1940 in Manassas, VA. Marjorie was a homemaker and an accomplished seamstress. After her husband passed, Marjorie moved to Chillicothe to take care of her mother on her brother Jack's farm out on Route 28 where she welcomed many family members every year. After her mother died, she moved to a home she owned in Chillicothe and lived there until she moved to Liberty Village in 2018. Marjorie had a larger-than-life personality and enjoyed telling stories of her early childhood and often spoke of her experiences living and surviving in the rural mountain areas of West Virginia which she did with great humor and affection. She had a great interest in antiques and, in particular, handmade quilts. In addition, she liked travelling with her sisters and she visited Bermuda, Switzerland, Germany, Holland and Hawaii. She also truly appreciated visiting her sister Dorothy's home in Florida for over 20 years during the winter. She is survived by her son John Edward Waddick II and wife Dorie; one grandchild, Brandon Walters of Kingsland, TX; and brothers, Charles Stewart of Falls Church, VA, and Bill Stewart of Fort Gay, WV. She was predeceased by daughter Patricia Ann Walters; siblings; Dorothy Shanks, Vina Belle Hedges, Jack Stewart, Irissa Faye Nicholson, Romuless Stewart, and Thelda Trentecoste. The family will hold funeral services and inurnment at a later date in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery family plot in Kingston, OH.
