Marjorie Cousins

Marjorie A. "Patty" Cousins, 86, of Chillicothe, died at 4:15pm Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Heartland of Chillicothe, following an extended illness.   She was born February 25, 1936, in Chillicothe to the late Hazel E. Cooper-Carpenter.  On August 21, 1955, she married Douglas E. Cousins, Sr., who preceded her in death January 5, 2020.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister Gloria D. Jackson and her brother Robert Carpenter, Jr.   Surviving are her children: Debra Cousins, Chillicothe, Kerry Cousins, of Illinois, Douglas E. (Henrietta) Cousins, Jr., Columbus, and Joy (Brian) Clymer, Chillicothe; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and brothers: Danny E. Carpenter, Sr., of Los Angeles, CA.  Ricardo R. (Sherlan) Carpenter, Minneapolis, MN, David L. (Felecia) Carpenter, of Menefee, CA, and Jerry L. (Shirley) Carpenter, Sr., Chillicothe; and a host of nieces and nephews.   Patty graduated from Chillicothe High School, Class of 1954 and had worked at the former Rink's and Bargain City stores.  She was a member of New Life Christian Church and had volunteered at Hopewell Elementary School.   A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, March 23, at the New Life Christian Church, 1033 Dayton St., Chillicothe, with Pastor Obadiah Harris officiating.  Inurnment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
