Marion Kepp

Marion F. Kepp, 95, died at 4:20pm Sunday January 4, 2015, at Signature Health Care, Chillicothe, following an extended illness. He was born April 23, 1919, in West Union, OH, to the late Cecil Roy and Goldie Pearl (Branham) Kepp. On November 20, 1982, he married the former Lillian Duvall, who survives. Also surviving is his son and daughter-in-law Stephen (Debra) Kepp, of Chillicothe; their children Stephanie (Donald) Aspel; and Jody Kepp; deceased daughter Katana Weaver and her children who survive, Tiffany (Shawn) Hanks; Amanda (David) White; Seth (Allison) Weaver; and Brayden Weaver; deceased daughter Kari Kepp and her daughter, who survives, Shanna (Jason) May; step-son James (Dian) Smith, Chillicothe; their children Rebecca Smith and Roman Smith; step-son William (Teresa) Smith, Columbus; their son Caleb Smith; step-daughter Sharon Alexander, Chillicothe; and her son, who shared a special relationship with Marion, Morgan Alexander; several great-grandchildren; and a brother Dudley Kepp, of Cincinnati. In addition to his 2 daughters, he was predeceased by his former wife, Carrie Eileen (Jones) Kepp; a brother Regis Kepp, 2 infant brothers and a young sister. Marion, a World War II veteran, served in the Army Air Corps. He was a radio operator on the medium range bomber, the B-26 Marauder, and participated in the European invasion on D-Day. He was very proud to be recognized for his service at the Allen Elementary School K-5 Veterans Day program every year with his grandson Morgan. Marion retired from ODOT District 9 in 1984, following over 25 years of service as an electronics technician. He was a member for over 60 years of West Union Lodge No. 43 F & AM. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday at Haller Funeral Home with Chaplain Paul Ray officiating. A Masonic funeral will be held at that time along with Military Honors. Friends may call from 1-2pm Thursday at Haller Funeral Home. Following cremation, the ashes will be returned to The Creator. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that to honor Marion, you take the time to thank those who protect us: veterans, active military personnel, law enforcement and fire fighters.
