Marilyn Sanders

Marilyn L. Sanders Marilyn L. (McDill) Sanders, 74, of Chillicothe, went home to be with the Lord and her devoted husband, Norman, at 1:11am Thursday December 15, 2005, following a valiant battle with cancer. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 9, 1931 in Middletown, OH to the late Robert and Bessie Borland McDill. On April 30, 1949 she married Norman D. Sanders, who died August 18, 2005. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Judy (Steven) Cokonougher, of Westerville, OH; daughter Barbara Lawhorn, Chillicothe; grandchildren Amie (Michael) Fleck, Joseph Lawhorn, Jason Cokonougher; great-grandchildren Jacob and Bailey Fleck; sisters-in-law Mary Hatfield, Myrtle Kemper, Lois Sanders and Ruth Tallmadge; several nieces and nephews; cousins Helen Szymen, June Prock, Pearl Louise Steele, Esther Bergeron, Patty Dunlap and Betty Rose Williams; and special friends Dena Hill, Glenn Park, and Tom and Jerri Page. She was preceded in death by her husband and a special friend Frances Park. Mrs. Sanders worked at Schachne's Department Store, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Sanders loved caring for others and taught her family the qualities of love, patience and giving. She took great pleasure in spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday, December 19, in the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in McDill Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 3-5pm and one hour prior to the service at Haller's. Memorial contributions may be made to the 32nd Degree Masonic Learning Center for Children, 290 Cramer Creek Ct., Dublin, OH 43017 or the Adena Health Foundation, Hospice Program, 272 Hospital Road., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
