Marilyn Rittinger

Marilyn W. Rittinger, 82, of Chillicothe, died at 11:40am July 9, 2023, at her residence following an extended illness.   She was born November 25, 1940, in Valdosta, GA, to the late Wesley and Lorraine R. (Avery) Ratliff.  On December 31, 1960, she married James E. Rittinger, Jr., who survives.   Also surviving are her children: Jeffrey Rittinger, of Chillicothe, Deborah Rittinger, of Jacksonville, FL, Scott R. (Petra) Rittinger, of Munford, TN, and David Rittinger, of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Sarah, Casey, Tianna and Madison; several great-grandchildren; and her sister Gayle Callahan.  She was predeceased by her parents; her great-grandson Luke; and a brother Robert Ray.   While Marilyn had worked at the former Johnny's Chicken and the Holiday Inn Restaurant, she mostly enjoyed taking care of her family and babysitting for others.  In her free time, she enjoyed working in her flower garden, collecting stamps and listening to rock and roll music, especially Elvis Presley.   At her request, cremation services will be held under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.
