Marilyn Munsey

November 4, 1953 — January 26, 2025

Marilyn Kay Coe Munsey passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, at Adena Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. Her passing was a result of a massive heart attack.

Marilyn was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 4 th 1953. Her parents were Kenneth and Faye Coe, now deceased. She is survived by her brother Kevin (Debbie) Coe, a niece Tricia (Melvin) Washington and two great nieces Lauren Junk and Kyla Beeler.

She attended Chillicothe High School where she graduated in 1972.

Marilyn attended Morehead State College in Kentucky for one year. Later, she attended Bliss College in Columbus and received an Associate Degree in Travel and Tourism. She also took classes in Human Service Technology at OUC.

In her teen years she took art lessons and showed a talent for drawing and painting. She also was very fond of horses. Over the years she had three of them and she belonged to a 4H Club and they were a project. She had a strong compassion for all animals.

Marilyn was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and grew up in the church, becoming a long-term member.

Due to health problems, it was necessary for her to move back to Chillicothe and the family home to receive the care she needed. Her final years were spent at Traditions of Chillicothe.

A special thank you to Vivian Besonen, Nancy Rose and Betsy Cartwright who regularly visited Marilyn at Traditions. Also, to Pam Straight and Kay Stewart who would bring communion to Marilyn so she could still feel a part of the church.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral home where visiting hours will be from 10:30 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2025, followed by the funeral. Burial will be at Grandview C emetery.
