Marian Smith

Marian L. Smith, 69, reunited with her beloved daughter, Jami Dawn Smith Shaw at heaven's gate 10:53 pm, March 25, 2014, after an extended illness.   Marian was born August 26, 1944 to the late Roy P. and Ruth Payne Smith. She graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1962. She worked for several years as an operator at the former Chillicothe Telephone Co. and retired from DuPont with 22 years of service.   Marian is survived by her two grandsons that she adored, Dylan and Hunter Shaw; former son-in-law, Patrick (Kathy) Shaw and Scotlyn. She is also survived by brothers, Richard (Marian) Smith, Walter (Jean) Smith, Everett Smith, and Roy (Phyliss) Smith; sisters, Shirley (Bill) Landman, Lola (Paul) Schumann; and a sister-in-law, Doris Smith. Marian left many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and cousins to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her daughter Jami Dawn Smith Shaw; brothers, Robert E. and John F. Smith; a sister, Evelyn Chaffin and sister-in-law, Barb Smith. Marian loved animals and would also want her deceased beagles, Meghan and Shiloh, listed in her life story.   Special thanks to all the staff at Chillicothe Healthcare and Rehabilitation for the loving care given to Marian during her illness. Extra special thanks to her friend and caregiver, Maggie.   Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday at the Haller Funeral Home , Rev. David Titler officiating. Burial will follow in Browns Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at Haller's.
