Margaret E. "Marge" Bennett, 88, of Catlettsburg, KY, formerly of Chillicothe, stepped from this Earth and into the arms of her loving Saviour at 10:56am August 23, 2021, in Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, KY, following an extended illness. She was the sweetest mother in Heaven that God chose to grace the life of her daughter. She was born January 24, 1933, in Medford, MA, to the late Alois A. and Augusta M. (Detlaff) Thomann She was a first generation American and her proud Boston roots were evident in her charming accent. On April 18, 1955, she married Charles K. Bennett, who preceded her in death on October 27, 2006. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Linda (Mike) Yoakem, of Catlettsburg, KY; grandchildren: Brandee (Keith) Jackson, of Chillicothe, Michael, Jr. (Alma) Yoakem, of Ashland, KY, Bethany Yoakem, of Catlettsburg, and Ryan Yoakem and his girlfriend Mandy of Ashland, KY; great-grandchildren: Cameron, Katie, Ryan Cash, Killian and Daisy Yoakem; step-great grandchildren Trevor and Tyrell Jackson. Also surviving are a dear sister-in-law Barbara Thomann; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother Richard "Sonny" Thomann and her step-mother Freda Thomann. Mrs. Bennett graduated from Fisher Business College and had worked as a legal secretary for Barrett Law and Fosson Law Offices. She retired, at the age of 70, from Ross Co. Job & Family Services. While living in Chillicothe, she attended the First Assembly of God Church and High Street Church of Christ in Christian Union. Margaret was a loving person who found joy in encouraging others. She is fondly remembered for her contagious smile and love of Jesus. She complimented everyone she met. She had an endearing love for dogs and enjoyed many years living on Cameo Lane with her family and pets. Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday, August 28, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Twin Twp. Cemetery, Bourneville. Friends may call Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
