Margaret Burns

Margaret M. Burns, 90, of Chillicothe, died 6:30 am, Tuesday, December 07, 2010, at Traditions of Chillicothe.   She was born June 19, 1920 in Chillicothe to Winfield S. and Lora Wagner Barnhart.   On November 9, 1940 she married John Raphael "Ray" Burns, who died December 9, 1992.   Survivors include two sons, James W. (Becky) Burns, of Grove City and Dr. John R. Burns, of Columbus; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, JoEllen (John) McDermott, of Torrence, CA.   She was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas, Robert, Walter and Winfield Barnhart, and two infant sisters.   Mrs. Burns was a lifetime member of St. Peter Catholic Church and a 60 year member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.   She served several years as a volunteer at the former Chillicothe Hospital.   Due to renovations at St. Peter Church, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 am, Friday, at St. Mary Church, Rev. William Hahn, Celebrant.   Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery.   Friends may call from 10-11 am, Friday at the Haller Funeral Home.      Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Church, St. Vincent DePaul Society, 126 Church St., Chillicothe, OH 45601.   Visitation:  10-11am Friday at the funeral home   Mass:  11:30am Friday at St. Mary Church
