Margaret Elizabeth "Peggy" (Werner) Bechie, 81, of Chillicothe, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, November 9, 2022 following an extended illness.
She was born June 8, 1941, in Cumberland, Maryland, daughter of the late Francis and Julia (Walsh) Werner.
She is survived by her beloved children, John P. Bechie, Jr., Frances L. (Brett) Reisinger, Mary A. "Mollie" (Jimmy) Maimone, all of Chillicothe, and Julia M. "Judi" (Chris) Hunter, of Tipp City, OH; her grandchildren and their families, Whitney (Michael) Braunlin and Charlotte, Glenmont, NY, Mary (Mike) Osborn and Ryan & Easton, Piketon, OH, Loriann (Isaac) Kennedy and James & Reagan, Spencer, OH, Carl (Ashlee) Bechie and Eliana & Adalyn, Tuscan, AZ, Clair (Dan) Glenn and Gideon & Mason, Bloomingburg, OH, Angela Bechie, of Chillicothe, Jack Reisinger, Chillicothe, James Reisinger, US Navy, Kate Reisinger, Chillicothe, Sarah (Tyler) Martin and Christopher, Louis, & Isabelle, New Philadelphia, OH, Joseph (Sammy) Maimone, Circleville, Pete Maimone and Amelia & Elijah, Chillicothe, Michaela (Lance) Dixon and Luke, Chillicothe, Isaac Maimone, US Navy, Gabe Maimone, Gemma Maimone, Anne Maimone, and Simon Maimone, all of Chillicothe; two special nieces, Mary Werner, Maryland, and Marisa Werner, Arizona; a special nephew, Jimmy Werner, Maryland; and a sister, Mary "Molly" Werner, Pensacola, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James Werner, and Francis Werner.
Peggy was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church in Chillicothe for many years. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority, Chillicothe Chapter. Her family and friends will forever remember her kind, giving spirit and charitable work. She loved hosting gatherings for family, and enjoyed working puzzles or playing games with her grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at St Peter Catholic Church, with Rev. William Hahn, Celebrant. Burial will be held at a future date in Cumberland, Maryland. Friends may join the family for visitation on Monday evening, 5:00pm-7:00pm, with a wake service at 7:00pm.
