It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marcus Wesley Dunn, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. Marcus passed away on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025, in Chillicothe, Ohio, a place he always called home. Born in Chillicothe on a cold Tuesday, February 15th, 1994, his warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Marcus was the cherished son of Martin D. Dunn and Carolyn (Thompson) Dunn. A loving brother to Martin D. (Saige) Dunn II, Marcus found joy and inspiration in the smiles of his niece, Evie Grace Dunn. His gentle spirit and infectious laughter will be profoundly missed by his grandmother Rosa Dunn, and his extensive family, including his Aunt Rosephanye (William) Powell, and Uncles Kennedy Dunn, Wilfred Dunn, Carey (Kristy) Thompson, Carle Thompson, and Aunt Crystal (Eric) Davis. His beloved cousins Camille (Crystian) English, Kaitlyn (Tobi Ajao) Powell, Kennedy Dunn Jr., Kayleigh Dunn, Kayla Thompson, Nia Thompson, Lewis Davis, Kennedi Davis, and Collette Small were all graced by his presence and affection.
Special mention Aunts and Uncles; Aunt Rachel, Aunt Gloria, Aunt Shell, Aunt Nancy, Uncle Donald, Uncle Hollis, and adopted Uncle Richard Rahle who preceded him in death.
Special mention cousins; Mahogany, Jarrod, Melanie, Brent, Dorinda, Kiana, Torian, Tory, Demetrius, in addition to a host of numerous family and friends not mentioned above.
Marcus was preceded in death by his grandparents Ross Dunn, Charles Thompson, and Mary Thompson, whose memories he held dear throughout his life.
After graduating from Chillicothe High School in 2012, Marcus pursued his passion for culinary arts, earning his Bachelor's degree from the Art Institute of Cincinnati in 2016. His career as a chef showcased his creativity, dedication, and the immense joy he found in sharing meals with others.
Marcus was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed spending his weekends on the golf course with friends and family. Always regarded as selfless, Marcus had a remarkable talent for uplifting those around him. His generosity was evident to all who knew him; he would happily give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Family, friends, and those whose lives were touched by Marcus are invited to celebrate his life and honor his memory during the visitation on Friday, November 14th, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Haller Funeral Home & Crematory in Chillicothe, OH. The celebration of his life will continue with a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m.
Though Marcus is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the countless treasured memories shared by those he loved. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his family and countless friends.
