Marcus Bates

Marcus Bates, 36, of Chillicothe, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital. He loved working at the Old Smokehouse Canal and spending time with his family, especially his children.

He is survived by his children, Kimara, Marlaya, Mariauna, and Azryel (AJ); mother, Lucille Brandon Turner; step-father, Angelo "Chico" Turner; sisters, ShaQuala R. Smith-Knight, Marisha N. Young, Latoya (Kevin) Bates-Gibson, Contanina M. Bates-Dewight, Alyssa A. Prelipp; brothers, Leland (Shawana Claytor) Brandon , Dominic Turner, Kortland (Julie) Bates, Ammerson Bates Jr. Isaiah Turner; as well as other family and friends.

Marcus was preceded in death by his father, Ammerson Chico Bates; brother, Rico Brown Sr; grandparents Paul and Elsie Brandon, and Russell and Esther Bates.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.  Friends may call 11:00 – 1:00 Saturday at Haller's.
