Marcia Cale Ellis, of Chillicothe, reunited with her husband Tim Ellis, on November 10, 2024 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following a hard-fought journey with ovarian cancer.
She was born on July 27, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio to the late George E. Cale and Anna Shy Cale. On October 3, 2009, she married Tim Ellis, who preceded her in death on October 19, 2023.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her beloved son, Jacob "Jake" Holmes; the father of her son, David Holmes; her step-son, Wesley "Wes" Ellis; her step-daughter, Aubrey (Jared) Halm; her grandchildren whom she adored, Ava, Christopher, Brevin, and Macy Strausbaugh; her sister, Teresa (John) Murphy; sister-in-law, Sheree (Lowry) Robinson; her nieces, Whitnie Robinson and Courtnie Peacock; her beloved special friends, Liza Tackett, Katy River, Jeanne Lortz, Pamela Laird, Cathy Cousino, Trish Hammer, and Jeaneen Moore; her dog, Rosie; and her cats, Perry and Pia.
Marcia graduated from West Jefferson High School, class of 1977. She has a penchant for party planning and entertainment, hosting many themed events while working at the Crosskeys Tavern for the legendary Tom Burke. She also spent many years working for Dr. John Boyle, her favorite podiatrist. Marcia was surprisingly good at planning pranks; however, the recipient could never be angry because it was Marcia, and it ended with her beautiful smile and infectious laugh. Her quick wit was unmatched. The love for her family and friends was without doubt; you knew. She found peace and solace in the beauty of the ocean, taking annual beach vacations with her Buckeye Lake besties which included copious amounts of seafood. The sunrises she loved so dearly will forever be a symbol of her radiant spirit, a reminder of her quiet strength and optimism she carried throughout her life. She appreciated the simple joys; the sound of the waves, the first light of dawn, and the bonds shared with those we love. She found serenity at her favorite tree on the Ellis Farm.
A sincere thank you is extended to the ones who supported Marcia during her illness and treatment. Especially to her beloved family and friends who assisted with comforting end-of-life care. Additional recognition goes out to Dr. John Seidensticker, the Adena Hospice team and staff, and the Adena Palliative Care Unit for all of their love and support.
A celebration of life honoring Marica will be held from 5:00pm-9:00pm on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Elks Lodge #52, 42 W. 2
