March 31, 1947 — September 2, 2018

Marcia Louise Curtiss, 71, of Chillicothe, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018, at her home following a brief illness.
She was born March 31, 1947 in Chillicothe, Ohio, the daughter of the late Lyle H. and Norma J. (Gray) McCabe. In 1977, she married Dean E. Curtiss, who preceded her in death on March 23, 2009.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John (Michele) Fitzpatrick; two grandchildren, Whitney Speakman, and Brandon Fitzpatrick; one great-grandson, Liam Speakman-Perry; a special cousin, Ruthann (Charles) Spindler; special friends, Joann Mead, Cheryl (Dave) Jones, and Sandy (John) Strous; her caregiver, Vicki Lanman; and her beloved dog, Chloe Elizabeth.
Marcia worked at AEP for many years before her retirement. She went on to work at Pickaway Ross and frequently delivered mail and filled in wherever she was needed. She was a member of the Crouse Chapel Church and enjoyed playing the piano and organ for them. She also played at many of the other churches around Ross County, and enjoyed organizing their music revival each fall. In her free time, she enjoyed volunteering at the Adena Mansion, going to lunch weekly with her grandson, going on shopping trips, and getting her hair done.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Martin Denes officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a visitation from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, September 6, at the funeral home.
