Marcia Branson

Marcia Naomi Wingo Branson, 79, of Chillicothe, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 21, 2017.   She was born December 7, 1938 in Chillicothe to the late Rev. Dr. Harold M. and Marsena Jones Wingo. On September 20, 1957 she married Ralph V. Branson, who died July 8, 2009. Born to this union were four children, Vincent (Monty), Mark, Bethann and Marta. Leaving to mourn her passing are a son, Vincent (Monty) Branson; a daughter, Marta L. Hitchens; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Cheryl Hitchens, all of Chillicothe; a brother, Wendall (Violet) Wingo, Murfreesboro, TN; an uncle, James Jones, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Mark; a daughter, Bethann; grandson Vincent Branson Jr.; brothers Edwin and Michael Wingo; and a great-granddaughter.   Marcia was a Chillicothe High School and Ohio State School of Cosmetology graduate. She was well known for providing day care and babysitting many children in our community. She was an extremely active, lifelong member of Zion Baptist Church, serving in many capacities.   Funeral services will be held 6:00 pm Tuesday at Zion Baptist Church, with her nephew, Rev. Dr. J. Troy Gray officiating. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 4-6 pm Tuesday at Zion Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Baptist Church, 84 S. Clinton Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601, to assist with their food pantry ministry.
