Marcella Welch

Marcella E. Welch, 98, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord at 11:54am on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Adena Regional Medical Center. She was born November 4, 1915, in Ross County, to the late Howard and Nesa (Martin) Hart. On April 25, 1934, she married Lloyd E. Welch, who preceded her in death in May of 1980. Surviving is her son Larry H. Welch, of Columbus; daughter-in-law Marilyn (John) Waugh, Chillicothe; grandchildren: Marci Welch; Stephen (Amy) Welch; Christina (Mike) Zurborg; and Heather Bolin; and 4 great-granddaughters. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son Garry G. Welch; a half-brother Coleman Martin; and a grandson Gareth Welch. Marcella was a member for over 50 years at Tabernacle Baptist Church where she served in many areas including Deaconess, Sunday school teacher and church hostess. She was a member of the Story Place Garden Club and the Zane Urbanites, as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star (OES) where she held many offices. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and hosting family and friends. She was a graduate of Londonderry High School and retired from Wear-Ever Aluminum following 27 years of service. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, November 21, at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Lusher officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-7pm at HALLER FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Central Region Office-Ross, 5555 Frantz Rd., Dublin, OH 43017.
