Marcella Hitchens

Marcella Hitchens, 75, was surrounded by the love of her family, physically and virtually, when she passed away on September 8, 2021.   She was born September 2, 1946, in Chillicothe to the late Roy Hitchens and Emma (Davis) Burrell. She was a graduate of Frankfort High School, Class of 1965. She retired from Glatfelter in 2008, where she was a member of the United Steel Workers. Her greatest joys in life were spending time with her family & friends and cooking.   Marcella is survived by her daughter Terri Hitchens; grandchildren: Shawnte (Antonio) Brodie; Raechele (Ty) Smith, Anthony (Bryana) Hitchens, Michael (Nikki) Turner, Shawn Turner II, Destini Hitchens, Victor Tanner, and Tori Tanner; great-grandchildren: Brendon, Diamond, Arieana, Antonio, Tyson, Jhayla, Jade, Tariq, Dream, Haven, and Eli; a sister Virginia Harbin; brothers Larry (Myra) Hitchens, and Kenneth Hitchens; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Craig Hitchens; sisters Arilene Thomas and Ethel Mae Pettiford; and brothers Robert Hitchens Sr., Roy Burrell, Jr., and Wayne Hitchens.   Her funeral service will be held at 1pm Thursday, September 16, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, with Rev. Robert Hitchens officiating. Burial will follow at St. Margaret Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11am until 1pm Thursday at the funeral home.  THE FAMILY IS REQUIRING THAT EVERYONE WEAR A MASK TO ENTER THE FUNERAL HOME.  Her online guestbook and video tribute are available at www.HallerFuneralHome.com
