Manuel (Mooch or Manny) Blake III, formerly of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly Friday December 3, 2021 at St. Joseph's Hospital North in Odessa, FL.
Manuel was born August 17, 1961 in Chillicothe to the late Manuel (Pepsi) Blake Jr. and Frances Louise Price. He is survived by his wife, Sonja Fitts Blake; his daughters, Gretchen (Jason) Martin, Candise, and Brandica; and his five grandchildren; Noah, Levi, Damian, Kerry, and Raven; three brothers, Robert Blake, Randy (Patty) Blake, and Ronnie (Kathy) Blake; a sister, Starla Easterday; and two step-sisters Marla Rousley and Rebecca (Ronnie) Wagner. He was preceded in death by siblings, Ricky Blake and Robin Butterbaugh.
Manuel was a 1979 graduate of Huntington High School. He retired from the US Army and the Ohio State Department of Corrections. He attended Grace Family Church in Lutz, Florida. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 62 and AMVETS Post 4. He served as Commander of the American Legion Post 62 in 1994 and was previously a member of the Color Guard and Honor Guard. Mooch competitively threw darts. He loved family and constantly threw out life lines to those who needed him. He truly has been deeply missed since his passing.
Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veteran's Honor Guard, will be held 10:00 am, Friday, May 27, 2022 in St. Margaret Cemetery.
