Maggie Brown

Margaret L. "Maggie" Brown, 77, of Chillicothe, passed away at 7:22pm February 18, 2025, at Hospice of Central Ohio, following a lengthy and courageous battle with liver disease.
She was born October 26, 1947, in Chillicothe, OH, to the late George and Katherine (Viney) Patterson. On October 25, 1965, she married the love of her life, Richard A. "Dickie" Brown, who survives.
Also surviving are her son Richard, Jr. (Deirdre "Dee") Brown, of Chillicothe; daughter Andrea (Ricardo "Ric") Hall, of Granville; grandchildren: Madison, Morgan, Mallory and Maxwell Hall; her siblings George Patterson, Jr., Michael Patterson, Rick (Peggy) Patterson, and Carolyn Scott; brother-in-law John (Cheryl) Brown; sister-in-law Julia Brown; numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece Christa Engard; and many friends and co-workers, including special friends Pat Sewards and Diane Spetnagel. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Doris "Marquita" Cunningham, Robert Patterson and Karen Patterson.
Maggie was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1965. She worked as a preschool teacher and teacher's aide for over 30 years at Carver Community Center and the Chillicothe City Schools. Throughout her life she attended Zion Baptist Church and First Baptist Church. She loved kids and dedicated her life to caring for them. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy to whom she was lovingly known as "Ninny."
Her funeral service will be held at Noon, Tuesday, February 25, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
