Madeline Michaels

Madeline R. Michaels, 66, of Chillicothe, bathed in the sacraments of the Holy Mother Church Tuesday September 25, 2007, at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00am Saturday, September 29, 2007, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Rev. William Hahn, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8pm Friday at Haller Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 8:00pm. Madeline was born November 1, 1940, in Yellowbud, to the late Henry J. and Ruth S. Gallaugher Derexson. On January 7, 1961, she married Nicholas J. Michaels, who preceded her in death on June 17, 1988. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law Lisa (John) McKowan, St. Petersburg, FL; Anita (Joseph) Beverly, Chillicothe; and Stephanie Michaels, Chillicothe; grandchildren: Kenneth Houseman, Nicholas Houseman, Brooke, Jazzamine, Shaidaya, Enddasey, Stannaya, Oshay; and Breanna Dunn; sisters and brothers-in-law Sara (William) Markel; Gloria (Bub) Dearth; brother and sister-in-law James Robert (Jane) Derexson; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Eileen Carnes; and brothers Henry "Hank" Derexson, Jr. and Paul Derexson. Madeline was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Zane Trace High School, Class of 1959. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
