Mary Eileen Lovensheimer, 90, of Chillicothe, died June 19, 2022 at the Greenfield Area Medical Center, following a brief illness.
She was born June 28, 1931 in Ross County to John P. and Florentine Schneider Corcoran. On July 3, 1954 she married Rev. Mr. George Lovensheimer, who died March 4, 2011. Survivors include three daughters, Lisa (Walter) Jinks, of Lancaster, Sarah (Bruce) Gray, of Chillicothe, and Heidi Lovensheimer, of Londonderry; her two sons, Fritz (Rhonda) Lovensheimer, of Grove City and George (Linda) Lovensheimer Jr., of Chillicothe; eight grandchildren, Hannah (David) Butta, Allison (Ben) Swanger, Emma (Eric) Alban, Brittany and Brett Gray, Peter, Tiffany, and Greg Lovensheimer; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer and Christopher Robinson; thirteen great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Barbara) Corcoran, of Des Plains, IL; sisters-in-law, Marjorie (Richard) Talbott, Barbara Lovensheimer, and Joanne Corcoran; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John (Doris) and Donald Corcoran; and a sister, Catherine (Richard) Wolf.
Eileen was a member of St. Mary Church, serving with the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Lazarus Committee, and numerous other activities. She was active with Habitat for Humanity and served as a board member, was a member of the Ross Co. Fair Auxiliary and Licking Co. Bicycle Club. She also enjoyed crafting and was a member of the Liberty Garden Club.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Friday at St. Mary Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Following cremation, burial will be held in St. Margaret Cemetery, and announced at a later date. Friends may call 5-8 pm Thursday at Haller Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary Church St. Vincent DePaul Society, Habitat for Humanity, for the Ross County 4H Endowment fund.
