Lynda Kae Barnes, 57, of Chillicothe passed away on April 26, 2008, at home, after an extended battle with cancer. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Tuesday, April 29, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Rev. William Hahn, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8pm Monday at Haller Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 8:00pm. Lynda was born in Sandusky, Ohio on March 27, 1951 to the late Roger T. and D. Berniece (Reiff) Krumholtz. She is survived by her husband of 34 years Brian N. Barnes, daughter Beth Barnes of Washington CH; daughter Katie Barnes and son Nathan Barnes both of Chillicothe; brother Charles (Cathy) Krumholtz, of Sandusky; mother-in-law Patricia Barnes, of Chillicothe; father-in-law James Barnes, of Ft. Meyers, FL; brothers-in law Rick (Kathy) Barnes, and Barry Barnes; sister-in-law Suanne Merriman all of Chillicothe, and several nieces and nephews. Lynda grew up in Sandusky Ohio, and received her teaching degree from the University of Cincinnati. After teaching in Bucyrus and Sandusky, she came to Chillicothe in 1976 where she taught at Worthington School. Her over 30 years of extreme devotion touched the lives of hundreds of her students and fellow teachers. She was awarded the prestigious CEA Educator Emeritus award upon retirement in 2004. She enjoyed cooking, nature and gardening, and her pets. Lynda was also expecting her first grandchild in August. She was a member of St. Peter's Church, and served on several committees. The family wishes to give special thanks Dr. Roach and his entire oncology staff for their understanding and kindness for the past several years.
