Luther Mountjoy

Luther D. "Luke" Mountjoy, 47, of Pickerington, died unexpectedly December 4, 2017 at Grant Medical Center.   He was born October 20, 1970, in Gallipolis, OH to Loren D. and Catherine (Barnett) Mountjoy. On October 25, 2014, he married the love of his life Michelle Braun Mountjoy, who survives.   Also surviving are his son, Luther Mountjoy, of Fayetteville, NC; grandson Kayden Redman; his parents, Loren and Catherine Mountjoy, of Hamden, OH; his father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Ruth Braun, Delaware, OH; sisters Debbie Radekin, Westerville; DeDe (Rex) LaGard, Chillicothe; brother-in-law Christopher (Christina) Braun, Kettering, OH; sisters-in-law Jennifer Braun, Ft. Wayne, IN; and Allison (Matt Stefanovski) Braun, Baden, PA; nieces and nephews: Sarah Radekin, Kayla Radekin, Ben LaGard, Melissa Braun, Stephen Braun, Rainee Chapman and Alejandra Flores; and several aunts und uncles. He was predeceased by grandparents Luther (Sarah) Barnett, Loren (Freda) Mountjoy, and Jenna LaGard.   Luke was a graduate of Vinton County High School and the Ohio State University. He worked for the Ohio Department of Health with the lead poison control department. He loved hunting and ran 'Frost Harvest', a pheasant hunting guide service, taking clients annually to South Dakota. Luke was President of Fairfield Co. Bird Dog Club, was lead guitarist in his band "No Regrets," and was an avid runner accomplishing 2 Ironman competitions and 3 100-mile ultra marathons.   Funeral services will be held at 11am Sunday, December 10, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow at 2pm Sunday in Hamden Cemetery, Hamden, OH.
