Lundy L. Crownover – Surrounded by family, Lundy, passed away on July 28, 2025 at Berger Hospital in Circleville, Ohio. Born March 21, 1948 to Leo and Esther Crownover in Wilmington, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, and an infant child, Eric Yancy Crownover. Also preceding him in death were his grandparents, Robert and Myrtle Rutledge, in-laws, George and Doris Cleavenger, as well as sister-in-law, Deborah Cleavenger.
He married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl (Ward) Crownover, on May 28, 1966 who survives him. He is also survived by his two sons, Brad Crownover (spouse, Esa Khan), and Brody Crownover (significant other, Melissa Ward), a brother, Reid Crownover, a sister-in-law, Pam Walker, and two adored granddaughters, Kaitlyn Marie and Mikayla Lee Crownover as well as many golfing buddies and friends.
Lundy worked alongside his wife and parents at a family-owned business, Crownover Lumber Company, in McArthur, Ohio for over 54 years until he and Cheryl retired in 2020. He and Cheryl were avid golfers and Lundy was especially proud that his wife was the Chillicothe Country Club's Ladies Tournament Golf Champion for a number of seasons, which coincidentally secured him a prime club parking spot. For over 30 years, Lundy and Cheryl spent time vacationing in Florida enjoying some of Lundy's favorite things: time with friends, dining out, discovering new wines, and, of course, lots of golfing. In his earlier years, Lundy was an ardent horseback rider and loved spending time with his family riding the trails of Tar Hollow State Park. He graduated from McArthur High School, was active in the Ohio Forestry Association, and was a member of the Walnut Street United Methodist Church.
Visitation is on Friday, August 1 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Haller Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Services will be led by Pastor Therese Lehman (Walnut Street UMC) at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. Internment will immediately follow at Elk Cemetery in McArthur, Ohio.
