Lucille Stanley

Lucille (Knutson) Stanley, 86, of Chillicothe, passed away October 22, 2007, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Rev. Joel Hess officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-6pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church and 1 hour prior to the funeral at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home. Lucille was born May 11, 1921, in Hecla, SD, to the late Carl and Mildred (Peterson) Knutson. On July 5, 1946, she married Frank W. Stanley. Surviving are their children Vernon and Colleen Stanley; Carol and Danny Burt; Marlene and Ivan Teets; Lowell Stanley; Mary and Frank Malone; Gail and Robert Merrick; Eileen and James Henderson; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a nephew Paul Smith; and a niece Jeanne Berretta. She was predeceased by her husband; a son Earl Philip; a great-grandson Nicholas Malone; and a sister Pauline Smith. The family also remembers Tara Blair, Ladonna Montgomery, and Kristi Meadows for their loving care. Lucille was a retired Registered Nurse having worked at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, the former Chillicothe Hospital, and the former Wear-Ever Co. She also served her country during WWII in the US Army as a RN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, 3380 Tremont Rd., Columbus, OH 43221.
