Lucille M. Herrnstein, 87, of Chillicothe, died at 11:40pm Wednesday, February 11, 2009, in Bristol Village, Waverly, due to complications following an October auto accident in Jacksonville, FL. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, February 15, in the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. John Kindsvatter officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 5-7pm at Haller Funeral Home, where an Eastern Star service will be held at 7pm, and may call Sunday 1 hour prior to the service. Lucille was born December 10, 1921, in Columbus, OH, to the late William H. and Hazel E. Hook Walsh. On December 13, 1941, she married Arthur A. Herrnstein, who preceded her in death on October 15, 1987. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Jean (Nick) Barker; son and daughter-in-law William (Linda) Herrnstein, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Jill Bucci and Tracy Barker, both of Hilliard; Bart (Janet) Herrnstein, Chillicothe; and Aaron (Patty) Herrnstein, Mooresville, NC; great-grandchildren: Joey Bucci, Aidan Herrnstein, Megan Herrnstein, and Claire Herrnstein; a sister Cleo VanDyke, Columbus; and several nieces and nephews. Lucille was a founder of Herrnstein and Walsh and former co-owner of Herrnstein Chrysler Inc. She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she had served as a Mother Advisor of the Rainbow Girls. She belonged to the Chillicothe/Ross Chamber of Commerce, the Ohio and National Auto Dealers Association and the Better Business Bureau. She loved spending time with her family, bowling, boating, playing bingo, and playing cards. Memorial contributions may be made to either: Adena Hospice, 111 W. Water St., Chillicothe; or the Chillicothe-Ross Community Foundation, 45 E. Main St., Chillicothe.
