Lorraine Sitar

Lorraine Fern Sitar, 94, of Chillicothe, formerly of Michigan, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021, at her home following an extended illness.
She was born December 4, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Leonard and Gladys (Tingley) Hanson. On August 26, 1967, she married Cyril Sitar, and together they shared 37 years of marriage before his passing in 2004.
Surviving are her grandchildren, Kelly (Gary) Oyer, Catherine Thornburg, Dooney (Cheryl) Medina, Dale King, and David King; great-grandchildren, Kyrsten (Michael) Robinson, Kelsi Oyer, Ronald Oyer, Kailey Oyer, Chandler (James) Thornburg, Makiley (Travis) Thornburg, Selah Thornburg, Cait Thornburg, and Ember Thornburg; a great-grandson, Jasper Thornburg; her bonus family members, Rhonda (Terry) Lawless, and Kay Oyer; special caregivers, Ryann Hardin, Misty Lemaster, and Jennifer Atwood; two sons, Michael Weems, and Don (Ruth) King; as well as numerous other extended family members.
Lorraine worked for the Allstate Insurance Company for over 31 years before retiring. In her free time, she enjoyed dancing, she loved the game of spoons, going to yard sales, and was known as the gadget lady. But her favorite thing in the entire world was being a grandmother and spending time with her family.
A visitation for family and close friends will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at the Haller Funeral Home from 12:00pm-2:00pm. Covid-19 protocols are in place and masks must be worn while in the funeral home at all times. Guests must also maintain social distancing while inside the building. Graveside services at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan will take place on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to Heartland Hospice, or to the Southern Ohio Survivors.
