Loretta Jane Bost, 82, of Chillicothe, passed away Saturday morning, May 20, 2023 at home, following an extended illness.
She was born March 20, 1941, in Lancaster, Ohio, daughter of the late Russell E. and Viola K. (Springer) Nelson. On February 2, 1968, she married the love of her life, Richard Roy Bost, and together they shared over 53 years of marriage before his passing on March 20, 2021.
Surviving is their beloved son and daughter-in-law, Richard (Kelly) Bost; her three grandchildren whom she adored, Zacheriah (Mary) Smith, Lillian Stamper, and Olivia Bost; great-grandchildren, Eleanor Smith, and one on the way; her sister-in-law, Vicky Dillon; nieces and nephews, Jason Deeds, Benjamin Dillon, Stacey Dillon, Andy Dillon, Everett "Ricky" (Katie) Hommel, and Shonda Hommel; as well as numerous cousins, extended family members, and close friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rachel Bost, and her siblings, Joan (Randy) Deeds, Ray Dillon, and Cathy (Dick) Hommel.
Loretta was a member of the Jefferson Avenue CCCU. In her free time, she could be found reading the Bible, watching her favorite TV shows including NCIS, and American Idol. She also loved watching Fox News. Her family will forever remember her love, kindness, and incredible heart. She will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00pm on Wednesday evening, May 24, 2023 at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Clendaniel officiating. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery will be held at a future date. Friends may join the family for visitation from 4:00pm until the time of the service on Wednesday evening.
