Lois Jaggard

Lois Evelyn Jaggard, 87, of Chillicothe, passed away at 5:52pm on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at the Adena Regional Medical Center.
She was born in North Tonawanda, NY on May 7, 1931, to the late William and Emma (Markovics) Hoyer. On June 27, 1953, she married Arthur Monroe Jaggard, and together they shared 63 years of marriage before his passing on July 17, 2016.
Surviving are their children, Rev. Dr. Arthur "Tres" M. Jaggard III and his wife Deborra (Lord), of Anderson, IN, Dr. Juliana H. Mortenson and her husband Mark, of Northeast, MD, and Johanna "Jody" F. Priaulx and her husband Michael, of Beavercreek, OH; nine grandchildren, Sarah "Eli" Jaggard Gilbertson and her husband Steve, Andrew Jaggard and his wife Megan, Ian Brooks and his wife Misty, Staff SGT. Graham Brooks and his wife Shannon, Phillip Mortenson, P. William Lee, Matthew Priaulx, Major Katharine Priaulx Milazzo and her husband Michael, and Natalie Priaulx Palsgrove and her husband Ryan; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. Too many wonderful friends to mention, with special thanks to Pastor Chris Brown, Connie Shelly, Rachel Shepard, and Kim Howard for all of their love and care. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Plack Jaggard.
Lois was a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science, Human Ecology in 1953. Her postgraduate education took place at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, OH, Freeport Community, in Freeport, IL, and Inver Hills Community College, Inver Hills, MN.
Lois had been a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Chillicothe since 1979. She was also a member of the Prime Thyme Garden Club of Waverly, the Potter's House in Chillicothe, the Third Thursday Bridge Club in Chillicothe, and the Ohio Arts & Crafts Guild.
She and her husband Arthur met while competing on the same fencing team during college. They enjoyed many hobbies and activities together, including attending the Yankee Peddler's Festival every year in Canal Fulton, OH. They also ran a Christmas tree farm in Chillicothe. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, arranging cut flowers, eating orange chocolate, making pottery, and making her own maple syrup. Her family and friends will forever remember her for her independent and feisty spirit, as well as her love of Christ.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the Tabernacle Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Brown officiating. Burial in Mt. Tabor Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends are welcome to gather from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesday at Haller Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at Tabernacle Baptist Church on Thursday.
Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to the Potter's House, 67 N. Paint Street, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
