Lloyd Winfield

Lloyd E. Winfield Jr., 75, of La Porte TX, formerly of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly June 16, 2022.
He was born February 11, 1947 in Chillicothe to the late Lloyd and Grace Mayo Winfield. Survivors include his spouse, Earlene Utsey, of Laporte, TX; a sister, Barbara Winfield Pettiford, of Chillicothe; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by seven siblings, Mary Jo Demy, Beatrice Winfield, Gary, Carl, Glenn and Michael Winfield; his maternal grandparents, Mary Elizabeth Lynch Willis and Silas Mayo; and his paternal grandparents, Emily Arnold and Howard Winfield.
Mr. Winfield began his career in 1983 as a welder with the Union Tank Car company. He held several positions in Houston and Pasadena Texas. He retired from the Flexible Lifeline Systems Co. in 2010. Lloyd also worked for the San Jacinto College as a welding instructor and at the Houston Community College teaching blueprint reading and welding. Lloyd was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and loved playing golf (LPGC).
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday at Zion Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. J. Troy Gray and Bishop Melvin Maughmer officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 11:00 – 1:00 at Zion Baptist Church.
