Lloyd David Trego, 94, of Chillicothe, passed away Friday evening, February 12, 2021 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.

He was born December 26, 1926, in Chillicothe, Ohio, son of the late Smith D. and Ada M. (Zoeller) Trego. On November 3, 1949 he married Frances E. Burchell Trego, and together they shared 55 years of marriage before her passing February 9, 2005. He later married Billie Lou Dyer who preceded him in death March 4, 2014.

Surviving is his son and daughter-in-law, Michael A. (Regina) Trego; two grandchildren, Nicholas (Danielle) Trego, and Lauren Trego; a great-grandson, Russell Lloyd Trego; as well as his good friend and companion for the last several years, Barbara Osborne. In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Pamela Trego, his only sister, Jean Kellough, and three brothers, Ralph, Carl, and Charles Trego.

Lloyd was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy, serving during WWII from December 1944 – October 1947. He went on to work for the Mead Paper Company for many years and retired in 1982. He was a member of the Brookside Church in Chillicothe, as well as a member of the AMVETS Post 4, American Legion Post 62, Aladdin Temple Shrine, Aladdin Ambassadors Club, Ross County Shrine Club, Pike County Shrine Club, Scioto #6 F&AM, Chillicothe Elks #52, York Rite Bodies, and Order of the Eastern Star #419.

A private visitation and funeral service for family and close friends will be held February 17, 2021 at the Haller Funeral Home, with Rev. Ralph Hux officiating. Masonic funeral rites will take place at that time. Military graveside honors provided by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Individuals who have been invited to attend services are asked to maintain social distancing protocols and must wear a facial covering at all times while in the building.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his honor to the Brookside Food Pantry, 2215 Egypt Pike, Chillicothe Ohio 45601.
