Lloyd E. Overly, 89, of Chillicothe, died at 10:15pm on Wednesday, October 31, 2007, in Carlton Manor, Washington C.H., OH, following an extended illness. At his request, private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of Haller Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield Township Volunteer Fire Department, 3140 Lick Run Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601. He was born October 3, 1918, in Ross Co. to the late Louis and Christina (Diehl) Overly. On March 22, 1946, he married the former Dorothy Jean Burlile, who preceded him in death in 1998. Survivors include his son Thad Overly; son and daughter-in-law Thomas (Linda) Overly, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren Seth Overly and Megan Overly; and a brother Carl Overly, of Chillicothe. He was predeceased by six sisters: Gertrude Hatmaker, Cornelia Reed, Edith Miller, Gail Wickline, Georgia Collins, and Elizabeth Ginther. Lloyd was a retired farmer. He founded the Ross Co. Water Company and served as President of the Board for 20 years. He was also a Springfield Township Trustee for 31 years and a lifetime member of the Benevolent Order of the Elks, Post 51.
