Llewellyn Jones

Llewellyn M Jones, 78, of Chillicothe passed away July 19, 2022.   Lew was born April 13, 1944 in Port Jefferson NY to the late Dr. Roland W and Maude I Morrison Jones.  On June 11, 1966, he married the love of his life, Susanne A Beck Jones, who survives.  Also surviving are his children Tracey (Christopher) Sailer, Loveland OH and Kim (Chris) Snyder, Powell OH and his three grandchildren Christopher Sailer, Josh Snyder and Drew Snyder.  He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Roland and Richard Jones.   Lew was a devoted family man and cherished his role as a husband, a dad and a grandfather. His family meant everything to him and he would tell you his grandsons were his greatest treasures.   Outside of being with family, Lew enjoyed traveling and cheering on his beloved New York Yankees.   Lew earned a bachelor degree from Nathaniel Hawthorne College.  He spent his career in retail management and had the opportunity to work in New Jersey, New York and Alabama before moving his young family to Chillicothe OH where he chose to spend the remainder of his career.  Lew managed the former Elder Beerman.  After retirement, he pursued his dream of opening his own business, Susie's Gifts in Chillicothe which he and Sue enjoyed running for several years.   Lew was a member of Scioto Lodge 6F&AM, was a 33 rd Degree Member of the Scottish Rite, a member of the Aladdin Shiners and the Ross County Shrine Club.   A celebration of Lew's life, and Masonic Funeral Service, will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.  Friends may call 11:00 – 1:00 at Haller's on Saturday.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ross Co.
