Liza Mcneely

Liza O. McNeely, 87, of Chillicothe, died Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Westmoreland Place Nursing Home, following a brief illness. She was born September 18, 1922 in West Liberty, KY to Ulysses and Adaline Mason Wheeler. On September 7, 1940 she married Jacob O. McNeely, who died November 28, 1979. Survivors include her children, Bernard (Linda) McNeely, Darrell McNeely, and Jacob (Andrea) McNeely, all of Chillicothe; her grandchildren, Parrish, Kimberly, Shannon (Theresa), Teresa (Daniel Barry), Christopher, Amanda and Adam McNeely, and Amy (George) Comstock; her great-grandchildren, Brooke and Cody McNeely, Avery and Elizabeth Comstock; a sister, Linnie Mae Williams and a brother, Wendell Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her husband, and five brothers and sisters. Mrs. McNeely retired from the Chillicothe City Schools Cafeteria in 1982. She was a member of Tyler Memorial United Methodist Church, a fifty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Ross Co. Senior Citizens. The family would like to thank the therapists and third floor staff of Westmoreland Place for their care during her illness. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at the Haller Funeral Home, Rev. James Groves officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 pm Tuesday or one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at Haller's. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ross Co. Unit of the American Cancer Society.
