Lillie M. Smith, 74, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord at 4:18am, Sunday July 17, 2011, in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born June 29, 1937, in Pickens Co., Ala., to the late Wimbley and Luella (Hughes) McCrary. Surviving are her son William "Bill" Locklear, of Chillicothe; son and daughter-in-law Traylon (Crystal) Smith, Gahanna; daughter and son-in-law Sabrina (Don) Monroe, Clinton, MD; grandchildren: Alena and Raven Smith; Shawnita, Alexis, DonJuan II and Demory Monroe; great-grandchildren: Jadyn, Bryson, Jacey, Taniya and Victoria; brothers and sister-in-law Carl (Louise) McCrary, Chillicothe; O.D. McCrary, Washington C.H.; sister Elsie McCrary Peterson, Chillicothe; her former husband, Gordon Smith; a host of nieces and nephews and many special friends. She was predeceased by her first husband, William Alfred Locklear; a brother, Doy Lee McCrary; and sisters Beulah Moore and Bernice McCrary. Lillie was a member of Floral Baptist Church where she had been a Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her family and her friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, July 23, at the Floral Baptist Church with Rev. James S. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday, 1 hour prior to the funeral at the church. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Floral Baptist Church Food Pantry, 2383 Massieville Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
