Lillian Carey

Lillian Isabel Carey formally of Piqua, OH and N. Lauderdale, FL, passed away February 25, 2013, at 9:45 pm, at Traditions of Chillicothe, OH. She was born on July 11, 1937 in Ottoville, OH, the first of five children born to the late Anthony A. and Vida Isabel Bowersock Miller. On July 13, 1956, she was united in marriage to James L. Carey, who preceded her in death on April 8, 2002. Survivors include their six children, Kimberly (Terrence) Taylor, of Chillicothe, Ohio; Renee (Vincent) DeCarolis of Coral Springs Fla; Michael Carey of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla; Jeffery Carey and Stephen (Nancy) Carey of Rockledge, Fl; and Matthew Carey of Coral Springs Fla. Also surviving are six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Amy L. Taylor-Twining of Chillicothe, Ohio; Nicholas DeCarolis, Joseph (Michelle) DeCarolis, Anthony DeCarolis of Coral Springs Fla; Stephanie and Victoria Carey of Ft. Lauderdale Fla; and Nathaniel J. Twining of Chillicothe, OH; one sister, Antoinette (Robert) Magnus of Coral Springs, Fla.; one brother, Thomas Miller, (Jane Kretschmann); sister-in-law, Judy (Paul) Miller, all of Piqua, Ohio; sister-in-law: Jean Carey- Strome of Riverside, Calif; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother Paul Miller, her sister and brother-in-law Madonna(Miller) and David Via; brother-in-law, Paul Strome. Lillian loved being with family, working in her gardens, reading, watching TV. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Saturday, April 13, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Piqua, OH, Rev. Thomas Bolte, Celebrant.
