Lewis Smith

Lewis Thomas Smith, Jr., 62, of Chillicothe, died at 11:40pm Tuesday, September 20, 2005, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born June 26, 1943, in Chillicothe, to Lewis T., Sr. and Norma Austin Smith, who survive. Also surviving are his children Ian Lawhorn, of Chillicothe; Miko Jackson, Shane Smith, Adrien Smith, and Monica Brandon, all of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a sister Cecelia Howard, Chillicothe; brothers Norman (Carol) Smith and Jeffrey (Diannah) Smith, all of California; special friends Elizabeth Jones, Virgil Bayless, and Barbara Gilmore. He was predeceased by sons Curtis Smith and Lewis Smith III. "Luigi" as he was affectionately known by his many friends, loved music and dancing and lived life to the fullest. He was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1961. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory: his family, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, September 24, in Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of Haller Funeral Home with Rev. J. Troy Gray officiating. Calling hours will not be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to Adena Hospice, 111 W. Water St., Chillicothe.
