Lewis Edward Ruth, 52, of Chillicothe, passed away on Sunday afternoon, February 3, 2019, following an ongoing illness.
He was born on April 15, 1966 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Lewis Ruth and Linda Riffe Gilliam.
In addition to his mother, surviving are two children, Lewis Edward (Vanessa) Chandler, and Jessica Chandler; eight grandchildren, Chrissy, Liam, Keelie, Kaelen, Kya, Ava, Adam, and Kane; two sisters, Lori Dixon, and Beth (Aaron) Fraley; nieces and nephews, Lexxy, Laini, Laci, Liza, Kadance, and Brayden; one great-niece, Lailani; his two special furry companions, Little Girl and Edgar; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two grandmothers, Jean Riffe, and Piccola Ruth.
Lewis was a construction worker for much of his life. In his free time, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a heavy metal enthusiast and a former member of the W.U.L. 313.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the Tyler Memorial United Methodist Church. Following the service, the family invites friends to stay and join them for a meal at the church. In accordance with his wishes, cremation services will be performed and a scattering ceremony will be held at the Scioto River.
