Lewis Hoosier

Lewis A. Hoosier went home to be with the Lord at 1:33pm Tuesday, January 11, 2022, in Westmoreland Place Nursing Facility following an extended illness.  Lewis was 80 years old.   "Louie" was born March 2, 1942, in Massieville, OH, the son of Rev. Elias and Ora (Harris) Hoosier.  He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.  Survivors include sisters Mary Harris, Maria Hoosier, Daisy (Joseph) Tanner, Bonadean Harris and Eleanor Harris; a brother Herbert Hoosier; several nieces and nephews, including special nieces Mary Tanner of San Antonio, TX and Wendy Wright of Columbia, SC; and a special nephew Marcel Hoosier.   Louie was a kind, generous, loving man.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone.  He worked as a laborer for Brewer and Brewer Construction for many years, later helping to run a farm.  Louie loved family gatherings.  Nothing made him happier than to be surrounded by relatives and friends at a holiday dinner.  His hobbies were stock car racing, working on cars, laughing and joking with the nieces and nephews.  He was their favorite uncle.  He will be sadly missed by family and friends.  The family would like to thank Westmoreland and Hospice staff for the care they gave him.   Graveside services will be held at 11:30am Saturday, January 15, in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  Words of comfort will be offered by Deacon Joseph Tanner.
