Lewis Bachtal

Lewis Bachtal, Jr., 70, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord at 5:34pm Friday, September 20, 2013, unexpectedly, at Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born July 5, 1943, in Napoleon, OH, to Lewis, Sr. and Vernabelle (Rhody) Bachtal. On December 17, 1966, he married the former Sally K. Lee, who survives. Also surviving are his son Todd Bachtal, Chillicothe; daughter and son-in-law Tina (Shaun) Fitch, Huber Heights, OH; granddaughters Gabriella and Chloe Fitch, Huber Heights; his mother, Vernabelle Bachtal, Napoleon, OH; sister and brother-in-law Barbara (Rick) Barron, Napoleon; and his faithful canine companion, "Johnny." He was predeceased by his father, Lewis, Sr. Lew was the former Administrator for the Pickaway-Ross Joint Vocation School from 1988 until his retirement in 1995. He attended and was active with Grace Fellowship. He enjoyed singing in the choir. He also enjoyed traveling and hiking. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, September 26, at the HALLER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Brent Rolsten officiating. Calling hours will not be observed.
