Lettrica M. Mead, 82, of Chillicothe, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital, Columbus, following an extended illness. She was born August 12, 1929, in Pike County, OH, to the late Lawrence and Rachel (Golden) Colburn. On February 4, 1950, she married John Mead, Jr., who preceded her in death on April 21, 1990. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law Mary Kay (Arthur) Hager, Dayton, OH; Jody (Ed) Luckett, Chillicothe; son and daughter-in-law Thomas (Kathy) Mead, Lancaster; 12 grandchildren: 19 great-grandchildren plus another expected in October; sisters Delores Fallis, Grove City, OH; and Ann Michels, New Albany, OH; several nieces and nephews, including special nieces Debra Haynes and Linda Norris; and a special friend Susan Spriggs. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a son John Benjamin Mead; 1 brother and 6 sisters. Mrs. Mead retired from the former Drew Shoe Factory in Lancaster. She enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, May 26, at the Haller Funeral Home. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends may call from 11am until 1pm Saturday at Haller Funeral Home.
