She was born July 7, 1939, in Chillicothe, Ohio, daughter of the late Robert and Eunice (Harrington) Woodruff. On November 4, 1957, she married her beloved husband of 49 years, Herbert Dick Lawhorn, who preceded her in death September 30, 2006.
Surviving are their two children, Lisa Neff, and Herb (Kacy) Lawhorn; her former son-in-law and close family friend, Dean Neff; four grandsons, Chris Neff, Bryan Neff, Zackery Lawhorn, and Cody (Sarah) Lawhorn; four great-grandchildren, Sadie, Xavier, Carter, and Riley Lawhorn; her siblings, Martha Detty, Tom woodruff, Linda Hutchison, and Bonnie Hutchison; very dear friends of the family, George (Peggy) Speakman, and Steve (Karen) Rigsby who were there for her the entire time; a dear nephew, Fred (Deana) Woodruff; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Bob Woodruff, John Woodruff, Ruth Rhodes, and Margaret Miller.
Leota devoted her entire life to raising her children and tending to her home. She loved going camping, swimming in her pool, but most of all, she loved having a back porch full of people to feed and take care of.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Stanley Skaggs officiating. Leota will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Grandview Cemetery.
The family asks that any floral arrangements being sent in her memory to be cemetery pieces.
